In a significant milestone for women’s football, Ghanaian referee Juliet Appiah has been chosen to lead the officiating team for the forthcoming FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup qualifier between Côte d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone, set for April 19, 2026.

Appiah will be backed by an accomplished all-female officiating crew, featuring fellow Ghanaians Mary Tei and Esuman Darko Doris as assistant referees, while Rita Nkansah-Boateng steps in as the fourth official.

The match will also see Togolese Ayawa Mana Mawuofemo serving as Match Commissioner, with Nigeria’s Faith Uwugiarem Irabor taking on the responsibility of Referee Assessor.

This critical fixture will unfold at the Stade Charles Konan Banny in Yamoussoukro, promising an intense clash as both teams compete for a spot in the prestigious global tournament qualifiers.
