The pursuit of young defensive talent has intensified, with Arsenal reportedly entering discussions with RB Leipzig for 23-year-old centre-back Castello Lukeba.

Despite having a contract with the Bundesliga club that runs until 2029, the French international is reportedly eager for a new challenge after three seasons in Germany’s top flight. Lukeba has attracted interest from numerous clubs, not only within the Premier League but also from La Liga, as multiple teams are set to vie for his signature.
Previously linked with a move to Bayern Munich, particularly if fellow defender Dayot Upamecano were to depart, Lukeba’s stock continues to rise. As noted by L’Équipe, Arsenal scouts were present during Leipzig’s recent draw against Borussia Dortmund to closely monitor his performance.
Thus far, Arsenal has not made an official bid or presented a contractual offer to Lukeba, although conversations have reportedly taken place in recent weeks. RB Leipzig remains open to potential offers, with the club keen to drive up their asking price, which is believed to exceed €60 million.
