Mamelodi Sundowns are expected to play seven games in the month of April; two CAF Champions League games and five in the league.

Having already played and beaten Chippa United 4-1 on Easter Friday, the Brazilians now remain with six games, and former midfielder Roger Feutmba has said that the technical team should manage the players properly so that they can win and do well in both the Betway Premiership and the CAF Champions League.

Talking to Soccer Laduma in an exclusive interview, Feutmba said that with the quality that Sundowns has, they need to rotate the players to avoid fatigue.

“It’s very tough to be in that type of situation when you are involved in too many trophies you want to win. But there’s something very important I realised yesterday (Friday). I went to the game, and I was in the stadium. I watched the first 11. Quality, quality player. I watched those on the bench.

“Quality, quality, quality. I watched those on the stand. Quality, quality, quality. So that means that they have what it takes to compete in all those competitions and even win them. Because of the huge squad they have built around quality players involved. So the only thing to do is for the technical team to manage that group of players very well. That’s where the challenge comes in, Feutmba explained.

“Because of the ability, the quality they have to make sure that some players don’t get exhausted or tired. They need to do some sort of system just to create some sort of rotation. You may be in this game, you add one or two players just to make sure that the balance keeps moving because of the depth.”

Meanwhile, the legendary midfielder further added that due to the quality that the Brazilians have, it’s difficult for other teams to catch up with them.

“The quality we have at Sundowns is really massive. That’s why it becomes very difficult for other teams to follow because they don’t have that kind of depth in their team. So for me, yes, it’s challenging, but I think you have what it takes to go out there and compete in all those competitions and win them,” Feutmba concluded.

In April, only Sundowns are expected to play seven games. After playing against Chippa United, they have six games remaining. Two against Esperance in the Champions League, then Durban City, Polokwane City, Stellenbosch FC, and Richards Bay to close off the month of April.
