Nedbank Cup
Result: TS Galaxy 1-1 Milford FC (Galaxy won 4-3 on penalties)
Date: 05 April 2026
Venue: Solomon Mahlangu Stadium
Adnan Beganovic’s charges were in action for the first time since their 6-0 mauling at the hands of Orlando Pirates before the international break, while Milford thrashed Baroka FC 5-0 in their last Championship encounter.
The Rockets nearly got off to the perfect start when Maduna got on the end of a corner at the far post, but he ended up steering his header wide of the upright inside the opening eight minutes.
The hosts were made to rue that miss as Milford took the lead two minutes later when Bulelani Sigomoshe raced to the byline before picking out Siphosethu Ndlabi, whose neat flick sailed into the back of the net despite the best efforts from goalkeeper Ira Tape.
Galaxy, meanwhile, were finding it tough to break down the second tier outfit despite enjoying a lot of the possession, while Junior Zindoga cut a frustrated figure for large parts of the first half as Milford goalkeeper Siphamandla Hleza barely had a save to make.
Beganovic responded with a double change at the start of the second half as MacBeth Mahlangu and Mpho Mvelase made way for Veluyeke Zulu and Mlungisi Mbunjana.
The changes made an impact, as ten minutes in the second half, Galaxy found the equaliser as Seluleko Mahlambi did well to pick out the run of Victor Letsoalo, who sent a fine cushioned header into the far corner for his second goal in the competition.
Galaxy should have taken the lead in the 84th minute when Letsoalo turned provider to play in Kakora, who instead of teeing up an un-marked Mahlambi, decided to go for goal and was denied by a fine save from Hleza, which ultimately sent the game to extra-time.
The hosts were dealt a blow early in extra-time when talisman Mahlambi had to be stretchered off after picking up an injury. He was replaced by Sedwyn George for the rest of the encounter.
However, neither side were able to find a second goal in the extra-time, sending the clash to a penalty shoot-out, where the Rockets held their nerve to triumph 4-3 in sudden death to book a date in the final with Durban City.
