Antonio Conte has expressed his desire to remain at the helm of Napoli, contingent on aligning visions for the club’s future. Following a successful weekend victory against Lecce, the manager revealed insights into his ambitions during an interview with AreaNapoli.
Conte, who is contracted to Napoli for three years, emphasized the importance of building a legacy before leaving. “When I signed for Napoli, I did so on a three-year contract. I have also said that when I one day leave the club, I want to do so after having laid a solid foundation – that we have won the league, the cup and played in the Champions League,” he stated.
He underscored the significance of the Champions League, not only as a prestigious tournament but also as a vital source of financial revenue, saying, “For many top coaches, the Champions League is an important goal, not least because the tournament also brings in large financial revenues.”
Addressing the future of his tenure, Conte articulated a willingness to part ways with Napoli if their aspirations do not align. “If we do not share the same vision for the future, I will leave with great respect,” he remarked. Emphasizing his appreciation for the city and its supporters, he added, “I really enjoy the fans and the city. I would like to continue, and if the conditions are right, we will.”
