Winger Omari Hutchinson expressed his disappointment in the aftermath of the match, highlighting the missed opportunities that could have changed the outcome. “It’s very frustrating. We had a lot of chances but didn’t put them away, and we got punished for it,” Hutchinson stated.
He continued, emphasizing the team’s need to convert chances into goals: “It was tough, but that’s no excuse. We had many chances in the first half and even in the second. We knew if we didn’t punish them, they could punish us with just one chance, and that’s how it goes.”
Despite the setback, Hutchinson maintained optimism about rectifying the situation in the return leg. “In training, we’ve been working on finishing, but today just wasn’t our day. They defended well and had a few blocks on the line, so credit to them. Hopefully, we can put it right next week,” he added. “We have a lot of confidence and belief that we can turn it around.”
