2010/11 season
Cape Town Spurs (previously Ajax Cape Town) needed to win their last match to be guaranteed the title but they drew 2-2 with Durban City (Maritzburg United).
Orlando Pirates, coming from second spot on the table, took advantage and won their final encounter 2-1 against Golden Arrows and clinched the title on goal difference, after finishing equal on 60 points with Spurs.

2011/12
Drama seems to have been following Pirates but this time they were in control of the title destiny, as they needed victory in their last game to make sure and they delivered a 4-2 thrashing of Arrows.
Moroka Swallows, who were second, went to the final matchday having a chance of upsetting The Buccaneers and did their own part, winning 1-0 against The Team of Choice and finished two points behind the back-to-back champions.
2013/14
Mamelodi Sundowns won their final title in seven years when they clinched the 2013/14 title by two points over rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
Sundowns could not afford to lose the final game against SuperSport United as they duly won 3-0. Chiefs were waiting to pounce, as they edged University of Pretoria 1-0 but it was in vain as they finished second.
2018/19
The Brazilians went again on the final matchday of the 2018/19 season with the title not yet secured and needed maximum points and they scrapped a nervy 1-0 win over Free State Stars.
Pirates were hoping Masandawana would falter as they did the business with a 3-0 win over Polokwane City but it was academic in the end, as they finished second by two points.
2019/20
Chiefs needed to win their final match to win the title but they were held to a damaging 1-1 draw by Baroka.
Sundowns, coming from second place, took advantage and thrashed Black Leopards 3-0 and were crowned champions by two points.
