In a crucial showdown for both teams, Orlando Pirates are determined to conquer Stellenbosch FC despite the challenging conditions in Cape Town.

The two clubs are set to face off at Athlone Stadium this Tuesday in a Betway Premiership clash, each team eager to fulfill its season goals.

Currently trailing five points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, the Buccaneers are focused on closing the gap as the title race intensifies.

Conversely, Stellenbosch aims to climb into the top eight, with only four matches remaining in the season.

Discussing their preparations, Pirates assistant coach Mandla Ncikazi emphasized the importance of securing maximum points to keep their championship aspirations alive.

“The preparation is just straightforward; three points is vital. We are focusing on the process of gathering the points in the tough conditions in Cape Town,” Ncikazi stated in an interview with OP TV.

He acknowledged the obstacles ahead, saying, “Tough conditions give us a challenge to get the best out of us. We just want to perform, we want to focus on our game plan. We want to perform, outscore the opponent preferably.”

Looking ahead, Ncikazi expressed confidence in his team’s readiness: “With what is happening at the club with the players being so prepared, I think we will overcome Stellenbosch.”
