The vibrant world of Ghanaian football is set to come together this weekend in a poignant show of solidarity following the tragic loss of Dominic Frimpong, a player for Berekum Chelsea FC on loan from Aduana FC. In a heartfelt tribute, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced that all participating clubs will observe a series of memorial initiatives during their matches.

All players and officials from the six clubs competing in the MTN FA Cup semi-final and the Women’s Premier League final will don black armbands as a mark of respect for Frimpong. Furthermore, a minute of silence will be observed prior to the start of each game, allowing fans and participants alike to reflect on the loss.

The GFA is urging full cooperation from clubs and supporters to ensure these tributes are conducted with the dignity and respect that the occasion demands. “We count on the full cooperation of all clubs and the fans in respectfully observing these arrangements as we collectively pay tribute to Dominic Frimpong,” a GFA spokesperson stated.

As the football community unites in remembrance, gratitude is extended to all stakeholders for their support during this difficult time, underscoring the deep ties that bind the sport and its participants across Ghana.
