Although his progress was recently hampered by a two-month injury layoff, his potential was recognized prior to this setback, as he received an invitation for a trial in Spain.
“A week before he got injured, he got a trial in Spain,” Pitso Mosimane shared during an interview on MSW. “I won’t [reveal now], I don’t want to be putting it [in the spotlight]. But it’s a good, strong team in LaLiga.”
While he refrained from naming the club, he emphasized that it is renowned for having one of the best youth development programs, clarifying that it is not Barcelona or Madrid. “It’s a proper team in terms of youth development,” he noted.
Mosimane was keen to address speculation that his influence played a role in securing the trial, stating, “People will say, ‘Ah maybe the dad made a call’. No, I didn’t make a call, there’s a lot of people who scout – they have a lot of scouting they do.”
He pointed out that the GDL has a robust system in place where matches are accessible via an app and streamed live, allowing scouts to evaluate players beyond mere highlight reels. “You don’t make decisions on highlights because no agents send bad highlights,” he explained.
The opportunity for Reatlegile Mosimane marks a significant step in his budding career, underscoring the importance of youth development in football.
