Nedbank Cup Final
Halftime: Durban City 0-1 TS Galaxy
Date: 02 May 2026
Venue: New Peter Mokaba Stadium
Trevor Mokwena and captain Siphamandla Ncanana returned to the City starting line-up, while the Rockets were changed from the side that started the goalless draw against Magesi last weekend.
City got off to a lively start in the first half and they should have taken the lead inside ten minutes when Maseko did well to pick out Jean Lwamba, who sent his header over the crossbar from six yards out.
It took a while for the Rockets to get their attacking game as they had to wait until the 27th minute for their big chance when Mpho Mvelase sent a delightful ball over the top for Victor Letsoalo, who blazed over the target with only Darren Keet to beat.
Both sides were guilty of giving away possession needlessly for most of the first, which made for a very scrappy spell of football, where neither team were creating chances from opening paly.
The deadlock was broken a few minutes before the halftime break when City forward Lwamba appeared to volley the ball into his own net while trying to clear after Letsoalo’s header was initially kept out.
Here’s how they lined up:
