Following the match, PSG coach Luis Enrique expressed his satisfaction with the team’s performance, noting the challenges faced in the first leg. He remarked, “Perfection in football doesn’t exist, but I have to say that the first leg was tough – very tough, especially the first 80 minutes.”
Enrique highlighted the team’s composure and precision during the second leg, stating, “After we got that result, we kept up our performance for the whole match today. The second leg was different because we were so precise on the counter, scoring two goals that finished the match.”
He acknowledged Chelsea’s strengths, emphasizing the difficulty in controlling the game against such a formidable opponent. “It’s always difficult to control a match like that, because Chelsea are a great side who want to score quickly. It’s always difficult to keep the ball, but the mix of counterattacking and also keeping the ball was key,” he added.
Moreover, Enrique praised his team’s strategic approach, noting, “Defending with the ball is always one of our objectives. Our performance was great and we deserved to win.”
Concluding his remarks, he shared his pride in the team’s standing in European football, asserting, “Everybody – especially those who compete in the Champions League – respects us because they know how we try to play football. The respect that we have and that we feel from other teams is great. It’s nice to be in this team – we are looking forward to playing in the next round.”
