With an eye toward the future, Mustafa Kizza has voiced his enthusiasm for the ongoing evolution of Kenyan football following his transfer to Nairobi United.
The highly-rated Uganda Cranes international, who recently signed with Nairobi United, has shared his observations on the progress of the Kenyan Premier League, suggesting it is on a trajectory to elevate its status within African football.
Kizza, who previously played for NEC FC, one of Uganda’s premier teams, noted his experience. He commented on the notable improvements in the league and expressed optimism that it could emerge as one of Africa’s top leagues in the coming years.

Kizza Optimistic About League’s Future
“There is good quality in the league. The coverage that is here is top and I think it helps a lot of players. I think in the few years to come, it’s going to be one of the top leagues in Africa,” Kizza conveyed to the press following a challenging 1-0 defeat to Wydad AC.
Kizza also shared his personal experience in Kenya. “Yeah, actually, I feel good. I’m at home. They’re treating me well. Yeah, and it’s just all about me performing. They’ve been so welcoming, and they’re nice people,” he reflected on the warm reception he has received.
He further revealed, “But the weather is the same as in Uganda, so there’s nothing about the weather. So, they are good people, and to be honest, they have treated me well as a player, and it has helped me to fit in very well.”
Discussing his new team’s recent match, Kizza highlighted the instructional approach taken by the coaching staff. He explained that rather than assigning blame, the focus was on maintaining structure and enhancing the team’s performance.

The defender underscored the positive reinforcement from the coaching team, expressing that it has played a significant role in fostering unity within the squad. “Also, you know, it’s all about tactics, and I cannot come here and say the coach is saying this. But the coaches are always positive with us. They’re trying to help us in any way. And we’re trying to improve as a team,” Kizza added, showing his commitment to collective progress.
As Nairobi United looks to bounce back, Kizza affirmed the squad’s dedication to learning from their experiences and using them as fuel to enhance their performance in future matches.
